    Description

    2 Vintage Japanese Lacquer Wood Velvet Jewelry Boxes with mark/label.
    The older box is Mid Century Vintage Black Lacquer Jewelry Box w/Music Box Japanese Mt. Fuji. This is a beautiful jewelry box made in Japan. It has a few condition issues that would be expected of its age. The music box has all of its parts but I think it is over wound. Some of the black lacquer paint on the corners and the back is missing, but this could be repaired. The interior is in great condition with no rips or tears. The doors with tassels open to red lined compartments. The box is 8.5 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 4 inches tall. It is signed in M.M in a gold circle with Japan written below. The second box seems newer and is in perfect condition. It is the same size as the older box but has a flat It does not have a jewelry box feature and the tray red velvet lined tray lifts out to reveal the lacquered compartment beneath. I obtained these jewelry boxes in an estate sale and do not now exact age or provenance. Condition is "pre-owned". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
